Low level of energy with a high level of feed intake.
In animal husbandry, certain animals at certain production periods (dry period, gestation...) must be given rations that are sufficiently bulky to maintain a subsequent ingestion capacity, while limiting the intake of nutrients at the risk of inducing discomfort or even certain metabolic diseases. The intake of fiber and ballast is then a necessity, while taking care to limit the concentration of energy and minerals. This deconcentration in nutrients can also concern proteins to limit nitrogenous rejections in the environment.
