A Natural Solution for Piglet Well-Being

Désialis has developed Luzapeak, an innovative, deconstructed alfalfa ball designed to prevent tail biting in piglets during the post-weaning phase. Created in response to a request from farmers concerned with animal welfare, this solution helps limit tail-biting behavior, a common issue in this sensitive phase of pig farming.

Successful Trials in Farming

Since 2020, Luzapeak has been tested in about ten farms and experimental stations, including the Pig Institute in Rennes. The results showed a significant reduction in aggressive behaviors, helping to prevent tail biting and improve the living conditions of piglets.

Compliance with Strict Health Standards

The Luzapeak alfalfa ball meets the strict sanitary requirements of pig farming. Its thermal treatment eliminates contamination risks, ensuring the product's safety for the animals.

Future Prospects

Désialis continues its experimentation and plans to extend Luzapeak's use to other stages of pig farming. The company is committed to offering innovative solutions that meet the needs of farmers while promoting animal welfare.
